Where the spores form

Cup & disc. Spores develop on an open fertile surface, often the inside of a cup-, disc- or ear-shaped fruit body. That surface holds microscopic spore sacs called asci.

Did you know?

The mushrooms are erect, reminiscent of a hare's ear, and form clusters growing from a common stalk, directly from the soil.
